I have the strangest desire to fuck Rob Riggle while listening to "Ch-Check It Out" by the Beastie Boys now.

I want to fuck them all for their music choices, frankly.

I'd definitely fuck John while "Baby Got Back" was playing. That'd be hawt ;)

I love Aasif a little more for having Khaled's "Aicha."

The mental image of John Oliver dancing to Baby Got Back just made me laugh myself stupid. XD

They've got kickass taste in music! I cracked up when I read that Oliver had "Baby Got Back" (but I have to admit, every time someone references that song, I get a little sad once I realize they don't mean the remix by Jonathan Coulton...).

I KNOW! I always hope for the Coulton reference too.

Ok, I was looking through your interests, and I am SO friending you...you like Alton Brown, JoCo, AND bleu cheese dressing? Run away with me! =)

[info]queer_theory

October 22 2008, 05:22:23 UTC 3 years ago

YES. We must be friends. I looked at your interests too. Alton Brown is seriously the best and Jonathan Coulton is one of the nicest and coolest people EVER.

And Stephen King is made of WIN.

And Ann Coulter really does make the Baby Jesus sad. :(

"Nicest"? Is there a story attached to that adjective?

For some reason, it took me forever to find this...

Jonathan Coulton, live in San Francisco

Also, I've been on the forums on his website for about a year and a half now. He's very kind to fans, very supportive of fan projects and ideas.

Oh, lord, I'll be over in the corner being jealous.

He's going to be in Boston in November, and I'm hoping I can go as a birthday present, so... *crosses fingers* ^.^

Thank you for sharing!

I had a feeling Aasif liked the Monkees/Bee Gees kind of stuff. *huggles him*
Also Rob. Seriously. No surprises :D

Also Jason Jones liking Regina Spektor makes me want him.

OMG, these fucking correspondents ♥♥♥ Their lists are so hip, I think they might give Anderson Cooper's a run for its money XD

But we're missing the Big Sign here:

John Oliver

A Few Words In Defense of Our Country - Randy Newman
Hoist That Rag - Tom Waits
The Greatest Thing There Is - Gavin Osborn
No Children - The Mountain Goats
Baby Got Back - Sir Mix A Lot
Consolidated Ball Bearings - Scharpling & Wurster
Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) - Arcade Fire
Way over Yonder in the Minor Key - Billy Bragg & Wilco
Seth Davey - Hughie Jones
Vicious - Lou Reed

I FUCKING LOVE ARCADE FIRE. JOHN OLIVER, YOU LEGEND.

I like that his list matches Anderson Cooper's in that way. :P

Wow, this pop-rock-indie BS was no surprise. Now, if I saw Slayer on any of these lists, I would've actually found something by the TDS gang interesting. Am I one of the only ppl who doesn't equate diversity/weird-named bands with "great musical taste"?

lol @ all of the political songs, though.

lol @ this comment

Seriously?

October 22 2008, 10:12:48 UTC 3 years ago Edited:  October 22 2008, 10:25:12 UTC

I like pop-rock-indie BS and I like to think that I have at least decent taste in music. Whether or not a band has a weird name is irrelevant.

I also like Slayer.

People like what they like. Look at Rob's list! Those are all mainstream artists, most everyone's heard of Queen and Journey and Led Zeppelin and The Who... and I think his list is indicative of a great taste in music. High five, sistah.

I personally can't stand when people are automatically dismissive of music that they don't particularly care for. Just because I don't like certain kinds of music doesn't mean it is all bad music.

Crumblin' Erb! ♥

Aasif's list is pretty great.
